Justin, Atul, and special guest Sudip discuss the film adaptation of Stephen King’s classic anthology tale The Dark Tower.

Topics Discussed:
Boss Battle:
  • The Dark Tower: Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey star in the Sony adaptation of the Stephen King novels about the last gunslinger tasked with protecting the Tower, and ultimately the Universe, from the horrors that are lurking in shadows.
Bonus Round:
  • The Dark Tower – The Gunslinger Born: Another adaptation of the Dark Tower by Marvel Comics. Scripted by Peter David and illustrated by Jae Lee, this version of the Dark Tower is very true to the source material and is another excellent way to become familiar with the mythos.

This is the first episode in a 6 episode series of a retrospective of the entire Alien series.

Topics Discussed:
  • The Shape of Water Trailer: Guillermo del Toro’s newest film starring Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, and Doug Jones as the Creature. The trailer for this supernatural love story balances both suspense and romance.
Boss Battle:
  • Alien Covenant: The newest film in the Alien Series. With Ridley Scott at the helm and a great ensemble cast, Alien Covenant asks some thought provoking questions, but the Harbingers have some fundamental differences about the film itself.
Bonus Round:
  • Beasts of Burden – Animal Rites: Black magic, demonic frogs, and zombie roadkill are just a few of the problems plaguing this seemingly sleepy little town. With the human residents unaware of the danger, it’s up to a determined crew of dogs (and one cat) to keep their community safe. Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson bring to life a unique series of books that are humorous, mysterious, and frightening.

We’re back! It’s been a while, but we wanted to take an episode to talk about some of the cinematic announcements made at SDCC 2017.

We recorded in a small room in Atul’s basement and so the recording sounds echo-y. I did what I could, but unfortunately I’m not as good a sound editor as I’d like to think I am.

Also, below is a picture of us with Kevin Grevioux (Raze) from the Underworld films at New York Comic Con circa 2010. Why did I post this picture? Just listen and you’ll see! For scale, I’m 6’1″. He’s a big fella.
